About Lewis Guitar Works

Lewis Guitar Works was started by Pete Lewis in 2013 and is based in Somerset.

Pete builds every guitar by hand in his workshop, from the first pieces of timber through to the final setup. The aim has always been simple: to make distinctive guitars that feel comfortable, sound right and are built to be played.

The designs are original, but they are not different simply for the sake of it. The shape, balance, neck and controls all need to work together as a complete instrument. Models including the Pícaro, Tañido and Amigo Del Surf each have their own character, while sharing the same approach to build quality and playability.

Every guitar can be made around the player, with choices covering finishes, neck specifications, pickups, hardware and other details. You deal directly with Pete throughout, so the person you discuss the guitar with is also the person building it.

Pete also carries out setups, servicing and repairs from the Somerset workshop. From routine maintenance and fretwork to electronics and more involved repairs, each instrument gets the same care and attention.
